recipe:
- Thinly slice the onions and slit the green chilies .
- heat a pan and add oil,add mustard seeds if desired, let splutter and add curry leaves
- add the onions,add a little salt,saute until brown.
- meanwhile crush the ginger and garlic and prepare a fresh paste ,add this to the browned onions and turn the flame low.cook until the raw smell goes away
- add turmeric, coriander powder and the red chili powder ,add some water if the mixture sticks to the pan.
- add the tomato paste and a little water(about 1/4 cup),cook for two minutes
- add the shrimp ,add salt and pepper,mix well
- let this simmer for next 20 minutes on low flame
- adjust salt .serve with steaming rice
