Blooming season for Basil

It's been a week of basil harvest in my garden. For what I remember we have been having tomato basil soup and basil bread for a month now . Its a bliss to see them in full bloom.

Here is something interesting about the blooms -they tend to change the sweet taste of basil and hence should be pruned .

Blogging and researching over the net the only thing i found useful of these flowers was to harvest the seeds and freeze them for the next   batch of blooms  !

The task of zip-locking them still remains undone ,though i managed to get the seed out .Looking forward for a holy basil blessed 2011 :)
